St Louis Cardinals: One of the Best Teams in Baseball's History
St. Louis Cardinals, formerly known as the St. Louis Browns, is one of the most flourishing baseball team franchises in the Major League Baseball history. Because of the number of championship and division titles that the team had already received, the Cardinals had become one of the most successful baseball teams in MLB.
Championships and Titles: Since their establishment in 1882, the major league baseball team franchise that is located in St. Louis, Missouri, had already won World Series Championships in the years 1936, 1931, 1934, 1942, 1944, 1946, 1964, 1967, and 1982. More than 20 years after, they continued their winning ways when they won the World Series in the years 2006 and 2008.
The team had also bagged National League Pennants championships in the years 1926, 1928, 1930, 1931, 1934, 1942, 1943, 1944, 1946, 1964, 1967, 1968 1982, 1985 and 1987. It then took them almost 20 years to continue winning and they got more pennants in the years 2004, 2006 and 2011.
The Cardinals had also snatched 4 AA Pennants championships in the years 1885, 1886, 1887 and 1888. They also won 10 division titles; seven at the Central Division and three at the East Division. Aside from that, they also won three Wild Card berths in the years 2001, 2011 and 2012.
Hall of Famers: There are a number of St. Louis Cardinals players that made it to the Hall of Fame. Some of them are George Sisler, Jake Beckley, Jesse Burkett, Stan Musial, Cy Young, and John McGraw.
Players Achievements: The Cardinals is always made up of great players that have proved themselves in the field of professional baseball. Because of this, many awardees of remarkable accolades had been presented to the St. Louis Cardinals' players. There are six players from the Cardinals that won Rookie of the Year. There are also twenty Cardinals who have reached the 'hit for the cycle'. Also, four of the batting Triple Crowns was from the Cardinals. This is quite a remarkable achievement since there are only sixteen batting Triple Crowns in the major league.
Logos: St. Louis Cardinals had a number of logo and uniform designs since the team was founded. During the 1900, the logo of the Cardinals did not feature any cardinal birds. The logo consisted of an interlocking 'SL', which stood for St. Louis. Twenty years later, the logo had changed and the 'SL' had been removed from the jerseys and caps. And on 1922, the Cardinals' uniform had featured two cardinal birds, which is still included in the present logo.
