Billy Casper – A Golfing Legend Not Given His Due
Billy Casper is a former American golfer who spent the majority of his career playing during the 1950s through to the 1970s and is one of the biggest legends in the game having won almost 70 professional titles on the Tour.
Billy Casper is seventh on the list of most wins on the PGA Tour having won 51 titles in his career. Billy Casper also won three Major Championships in his career – the US Open of 1959 and 1966 as well as the Masters Tournament of 1970. In 1966 and 1970, Billy Casper was named the PGA Tours Player of the Year and he also topped the money list in 1966 and 1968. When it comes to accolades received from the peers, no other golfer would quite excel what Casper has got.
Some people say that as a golfer, he was not given his due and was far under rated than his talents deserved where as some others also state that he was at par with the three all time greats of the game – Gray Player, Arnold Player and Jack Nicklaus. No matter what is said about Billy Casper, it cannot be denied that he was by far one of the greatest golfer of his generation and deserved his place in the Hall of Fame of Golf, which he is now a member of.
