Camden Riversharks - History and Achievements
The Camden Riversharks is a professional baseball team in the United States. They are based in Camden, New Jersey. They are affiliated to the Liberty Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, a baseball association that isn't a part of the Major Baseball League.
The team was founded in 1999, but started playing as an expansion team only in 2001. Since then,they have managed to pull in good numbers of fans for every game, averaging about 4000. On some nights, like fireworks nights, the count exceeds 7000.
Since 2001, the Camden Riversharks have had Campbell's field as their home ground. The Campbell's field is located just at the base of the Benjamin Franklin bridge on the Delaware River. Because of this, the club logo prominently features the Benjamin Franklin bridge.
Before the Camden Riversharks, there have been some other baseball teams which were based out of Camden. Among the ones that called Camden their home was Camden Merritt, which played in Camden in 1883. The Camden Riversharks were the first professional baseball team to be based out of Camden since 1904.
The team has a win-loss record of 611-563. they have been fairly successful since the beginning. They were ranked third in the South Division the year they started playing and have put in consistently good performances since then.
