Darryl Strawberry

Darryl Strawberry was born in the year 1962 on the 12th of March. He is an ex-American Major League Baseball outfielder who was well known for his performances on the field and his controversial behaviour off it.

Throughout his career, Darryl Strawberry was a feared slugger in the game, best known for his talented home-runs and his daunting presence with a height of 6 foot and 6 inches. His looping swing also drew comparisons with Ted Williams.

During his illustrious career, he led the New York Mets to a World Series championship in the year 1986 and also helped lead the New York Yankees to three World Series championships in the years 1996,1998 and 1999.Darryl Strawberry was a very popular player during his career and was voted eight times to the All-Star-Game from 1984-1991.

Darryl Strawberry was born in Los Angeles, California to Ruby and Henry Strawberry. He played baseball for Crenshaw High School Cougars and along with him was Chris Brown. Using a distinct batting stance, which included a high leg kick, Darryl Strawberry rose through the ranks of the Mets and started playing in the major league division in the year of 1983.

Darryl Strawberry is currently working as an analyst for Sports Net New York. Straw: Finding My Way, his memoir was published on April 28, 2009.
