Ed Dudley - the 20century golfer

Full name of Ed Dudley was Edward Bishop Dudley. He was born on 19th February in the year 1901. He is regarded as one of the greatest player of that era. Dudley was well known for his golfing talents. He got the nickname of Big Ed for his height of 6feet 4 inches.

Dudley took birth in Brunswick which is situated in Georgia. He won 15 titles in PGA tours. In the year 1931, Dudley won the opens held in Western and Los Angeles. In the year 1933, Dudley performed the best play of his life. He became the quarter finalist in the PGA championship and also got selected in Ryder Cup. In the Ryder Cup, he won two vital matches which helped to win United States in England for the first time.

He has finished about 24t times within the top ten players in major championships. In a particular year he was in among the top ten rankings for four major golf tournaments. In Augusta Golf Club, Ed Dudley was the head golf from the year 1932 till 1957. He also became the president of the PGA of America in the year1942. Dudley died on 25th October, 1963. Heart attack was the reason behind his death.
