Michael Vick

Michael Vick: Childhood and college career: Michael Vick (full name: Michael Dwayne Vick) is a professional American football player who plays quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL. He played professionally for the Atlanta Falcons before he was sent to prison for being involved in a dog-fighting racket.

Michael Vick was born on 26th June, 1980, in Newport News, Virginia. He spent most of his childhood in a neighborhood where violence and drugs were a part of everyday life. As a child, Michael would go away to a nearby lake to fish even in non-fishing season, just so that he could get away from where he growing up. His father had a job which required him to travel extensively, but that did not get in the way of him teaching his two sons the skills of football.

Michael Vick attended Homer L. High School, where he could show his talents with the football for the first time. In his first high school year, he created an impression on a fair number of people when he threw the football 400 yards. He attended Virginia Tech College on a football scholarship and had an impressive record from his freshman year to sophomore as redshirt. He was picked first in the 2001 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons where he played for 6 seasons.
