Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan: A brief career history: Anybody who is even remotely interested in the world of sports has heard about him, one way or the other. He is quite possibly, the best basketball player that has ever lived.

Without a shadow of doubt is the fact that he is the most charismatic of them all. He is the one and only Michael Jordan.

Michael Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York on 17th February, 1963. He attended college at the University of North Carolina, where he had a splendid basketball career. He was a member of the National Championship team for the Tar Heels in 1982. Two years later in 1984, he turned pro by joining the NBA's Chicago Bulls. He was a prolific scorer and the crowds loved him to bits.

He had immense leaping ability, and for this reason, Michael Jordan was known by a number of nicknames, most popular among which were 'His Airness' and 'Air Jordan'. He led the Bulls to victory in three consecutive seasons (1991, 1992, 1993) thus securing a feat known as the three-peat.

He suddenly retired at the start of the 1993-'94 season to try and pursue a career in baseball, but returned to the bulls and led them to three more championships in 1996, '97 and '98. He now owns a controlling stake in the NBA team Chralotte Bobcats.
