Lazar Hayward is a professional basketball player from the United States of America who plies his trade with the NBA franchise the Minnesota Timberwolves. He plays as a small forward and was one of the stand out performers for his college team Marquette University in that position.
Hayward was one of the most promising players during his school days having started both the freshman and sophomore seasons. The unique thing about Lazar Hayward when he takes to the court is that he is always seen wearing a headband bearing the Nike swoosh on the back of his head in order to match it with the uniform of the Timberwolves.
Having earned the nickname Money man during his college basketball days, Hayward made the step up to the professional level when he was picked for the NBA draft in 2010.
He was selected in the 1st round of drafts and 30th overall by the Washington Wizards but they soon traded the draft rights of Lazar Hayward to the Timberwolves and he has been with the Wolves since then. He is one of the most talented young players playing in the NBA at the moment and he is on the brink of a breakthrough to the US team for the 2012 London Olympics.
