American Football introduction
American football is one of the major sports on the United States of America and it is played by most of the people
in the country. American football is a very popular sport always played between two teams of eleven members with the
main objective of scoring as many points as possible by advancing the ball into the opposing team's end zone. Known
in the United States as American football, this sport can also be referred to informally as gridiron.
The ball can only be advanced by running with the ball or throwing it to a teammate in American football. Points can
be scored in American football by carrying the ball over the opponent team's goal line, catching a moving pass
thrown over that goal line, kicking the ball through the opponent's goal posts or by tackling any opposing ball
carrier in his own end zone.
In the United States of America, the major forms of the game of American football are high school football, college
football and professional football. The major league for professional football is the National Football League (NFL)
and it is followed by most of the people living in the country as it is one of the favorite sports of the public.
