The San Diego Charger Girls
The professional cheerleading squad for the
San Diego Chargers of the
National Football League or the NFL. The
Charger Girls cheer the team on during the home matches of the Charges and can be found performing at the various
events that are hosted and organized by the Chargers on and off the field. The squad is produced by Olmstead
Productions. The squad was formally established in 1990 and since then, the Charger Girls have gone on to become one
of the best dance groups in the NFL.
The current squad boasts of 28 members, all of whom are
professional dancers, some are in the field of entertainment
while some other are still finishing up their college education. In order to be considered as a dancer for the San
Diego Charger Girls, a dancer needs to go through an audition with the director of the team Lisa Simmons, who was
named as the director of the cheerleading squad after she called time on her career as a Charger Girl herself after
performing for three years. Being a Charger Girl is a part time job but even this kind of part time job requires
dedication and hard work in order to give their best to cheer their team on.
The Charger Girls are one of the most popular cheerleading squads in the NFL, much like the Laker Girls in the NBA
and they have appeared on several television programs, be it for the local, national or even international audience.
Sport Magazine voted the San Diego Charger Girls as the Best Cheerleaders in the NFL and the Charger Girls even had
their own television episode on the entertainment channel 'E'. tiffany is currently the Charger Girl who has been
nominated as the captain for rehearsals but there are no captains when they take to the field. From the Niner Nuggets
